Time foolery poem.

Time Foolery

Winter is an eternity, it seems.
The cold creeps along like
an old lady crossing the street.

The nights suddenly close around us,
as if God abruptly pulled a light switch.
Sunny days show up on TV movies,
not outside our windows.

But then it happens, spring erupts
and days lengthen, Jonquils bloom
and onions pop up on lawns.
Fragrance flutters by and a breeze
is not followed by chattering teeth.

Looking back, I think, “Spring appeared
before I knew it.”
Looking back, time seems to have flown.
Looking forward, time seems to crawl.
