The time is now poem.
The Time is Now
I lived for this time.
I dreamed while awake
as I poured cereal
and made birthday cakes.
I could only imagine
the gladness and joy
of endless hours
and grown-up boys.
Time to read
and do nothing at all.
Time to write.
But now I recall.
I recall how cute they were
when they were small.
Going out in the yard
and throwing the ball.
I rocked and sang,
got up in the night.
I played and cooked
and gave them my life.
I’m in this time
I used to live for.
Would I go back? Not a chance
in a million, and forty four!
