SEVENTEEN
He’s seventeen I’m letting go
I’m giving up what’s no longer
Mine to hold
I struggle I worry that he won’t
Be safe but I try to be strong,
let go anyway.
And I get something back
better than gold,
we talk he’s open
I’m free to hold,
but I don’t hold on.
_____________
ON A BAD DAY
He’s seventeen
I hate his guts
his snide remarks
his blatant cuts.
He’s so damn smart
he could rule the world
The only thing worse
would be a teenage girl.

STUNTS
Pulling stunts,
but filled with remorse.
Because he got caught,
he’s sorry,
of course.
