TELL ME SOME MEMORIES
The following poem was inspired
by Ronnie Allred, my long-time friend
and classmate. He spent time
with us after Daddy's death and
made us laugh. We were talking about
how I couldn't remember much about high
school because I wasn't all that popular.
So, I said, "Ronnie, tell me some
memories." We got a big kick out of that
and the thought created this poem ~~~
Tell me some memories,
let’s ponder the past.
Give me your stories,
encourage the laughs.
Offer up times
and the places we went.
Jog, shake and trigger
and throw out some hints.
Tell me the memories
I cannot recall.
Tell me the fun times.
Did we have a ball?
Remind me of spring,
summer, winter and fall.
Am I in your memories,
forever, at all?
Tell me some memories.
I’m longing to know
the jokes and the good times
from so long ago.
Seasons of life,
how they ebb and they flow.
I’ll take all the memories
and have them to go.
