MY AUNT VIVIAN

I just realized it today, Vivian has gone away.
I decorated the sun room so fine
and thought, “she’d like it
this way”.

She affirmed my accessory mania,
my compulsion to fill up a room.
We agreed on the need to adorn our lives
with fashion and fine perfume.

We laughed about imperfections,
others and ours as well.
We shared some wine at various times
and had some fun stories to tell.

I liked her adventurous spirit
though it caused her to leave us too soon.
I enjoyed the occasions I felt she and I
danced to a similar tune.
