Larrypoem.
FORGOTTEN
Larry sits in his stagnant room.
Memories are eked out, rationed.
Elders sit in their lofty place
dressed in the latest fashion.
Secrets of the leaders play
in Larry’s drunken mind.
Twisted tempting thoughts they shared.
“Let’s talk the ties that bind.”
Elders sit at the top of the stairs,
toasting one another.
They don’t descend to Larry’s room;
a lost and broken brother.
They fill their mansions here on earth
with things and “chosen children.”
The demons call on Larry now
and his withered soul is yielding.
