FRUIT FOR THOUGHT
Tomato bits, pieces and seeds
thrown into dirt beneath
the only spot in this wooded
area that soaks up sunshine.
I saw them one autumn
day. Vines and more vines
which were producing small
clusters of fruit.
I quickly constructed
a makeshift support so
the delicate vines could attach
themselves, feel more
secure and continue to
bloom forth.
I saw myself and wondered
if I produce fruit that is
evident. Have my branches
been pruned enough to
reach out and exemplify
the fruit of the spirit?
