A DEGREE OF TRUTH

A big fat college class ring.
A graduation prize
Reappears on down the road
Along with wandering eyes.
It covers up reality
While he covers all the bases.
It indicates he isn’t bound
He thinks there are no traces.
A bit fat combination
Of hurt and endless lies
Result in apprehension
And educated eyes.
She knows about the cover up
The truth is all around.
And circles of deception
Are easily unwound.
