A DEGREE OF TRUTH

A big fat college class ring.
A graduation prize,
reappears on down the road
along with wandering eyes.

It covers up reality
while he covers all the bases.
It indicates he isn’t bound.
He thinks there are no traces.

A big fat combination
of hurt and endless lies
result in apprehension
and educated eyes.

She knows about reality.
The truth is all around.
And circles of deception
are easily unwound.
