WRITER’S BLOCKS

I will not sit here with writer’s block.
I’ll put something down instead.
I won’t clean the kitchen or fold up clothes
or get back in the bed.

A “block” obstructs, deters, confines,
and the creative mind shuts down.
I will not have it! I’ll scribble words.
Adjectives, adverbs and nouns.

I’ll think of “blocks” as a wooden toys
with letters, six squares around.
I’ll build with them, long, tall and wide.
The words that are formed will resound.

They’ll resound to the sky and back again,
for the sky is the limit, not me.
I will not sit here with writer’s blocks.
I’ll use them, A B C D E.
