WISHING WELL
The hole in my soul reveals itself
When dawn is slowly breaking.
Bodily hurt from feeling alone
Shakes me into waking.
A screaming void that can’t be filled
Expands and my heart beats faster.
Remedy found in calming pills
Postpones my life’s disaster.
I want to still hysteria
Over things I can’t control.
I yearn to be rid of the emptiness
And to rest in the whole of my soul.
