The Secret

She was beaten down, treated poorly.  For years she tried not to look the other way.  To glance at those who pulled at her heart.  She was an actress, playing a role  for family and friends.  She appeared fine, happy even  But the play had to end,  As plays eventually do.  The acting stopped.   She told him it was time to go.  To end the charade and set herself free as she walked away and kissed Malissa good night.  Janet Brice Parker 2025
