The Colors of Rain

An evening on the porch, Glasses of white wine
reflect gratitude

 for the rain that
beats down
 a blistering
hot day. Rushing clouds spill water
across grass and hay,
creating an intoxicating
space around us. A fresh, cleansing,
soothing song quiets
our spirits 
and breathes for us while we escape
into what was given to us
years ago.
