That “Grandmother Hole”

All you had to ask was, “is that a turquoise ring?”  With that simple question I was hooked on your name:“Birdie“. It suited your smile, curly blonde hair,  your outgoing personality and artsy nature.
Immediately I thought to myself, “we’re kindred spirits. Art, music and writing were areas that connected our creative minds.

Later, after we got to know one another, I learned that you are an “old soul”. I was 79 at the time and a “young soul”. So I surmised that we must be around the same age give or take a few years.
We confide in each other at times.
We live our separate lives in different places
but no matter how busy your days are,
you make time to get in touch with me and fill that “grandmother hole”.
