STILL LISTENING
Silences weave
throughout our days,
Suspended conversation.
Racing reactions,
An empty well?
Lack of information?
Your stories told,
My laughter hushed
Are we waiting
To be replenished?
Quiet smiles,
An anxious fear
Is this tapestry
Sewn up
And finished?
Common threads
Are seen and felt
A bond of which
I’m certain.
Hearing nothing
But my thoughts,
Light shining
Through the curtain
