Prophesy poem.
PROPHESY
Kristina called.
Her voice was laughter
and joy. I could see her
beautiful smile and the
sparkle in her brown eyes.
Kristina told me about the
child who was growing
inside of her and that I would
be a grandmother again.
We spoke in excited tones
and chatted about the blessing
given to my son and his wife.
I asked if it would be a boy or girl.
It was too soon to tell, she said.
The happiness surrounded me
as I secretly wished for a boy.
Our conversation faded as
my eyelids fluttered and caught
the morning light.
I saw the ceiling fan and
my husband quietly lying beside me.
I recounted the lucid dream in detail.
I was not disappointed that it was a dream
because I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt
that this was to be.
Except for telling my mate, I kept the knowing
secretly in my heart.
I quietly waited in bright happiness.
The call came six weeks later.
“Guess what, Mom?”
“I’m so excited for you and Kris!
I was told in a dream,
a wonderful dream.”
