Pamela
We began by commenting
on each other’s poetry
on Authors Den.
I read your book
and you read mine.
Your writing was superb,
and the page-turning mystery
had me impatiently waiting
for the end—
what a surprise!
Now you leave poetic observations
that I read
time and time again.
Your friendship through the years
is palpable.
I can see you in your studio,
reading what suits you—
no deadlines,
and time to dream.
I think of you often
and reminisce
about the years
we’ve shared together.
You and I connect
in a way
other relationships do not.
We share our history
and the times we lived through.
Our experiences
mirror one another
in quiet ways
I miss you, Pam.
I think about us
sitting down to coffee
in a charming café,
but we both know
it probably won’t happen,
because we have never met.
