Janet Brice Parker
Pain ripped at me
like a fast pitch to my stomach.
Emergency room,
bent over double.
Drank putrid green slushy
without an umbrella in it.
X-Ray lights blinding and
burning a brand into my
suffering.
I’m here
wondering about
the ebb and flow
of words being
transmitted across
the land and pond.
And the beautiful motions
of your lives.
