Nobie en Nem
We’ve loved y’all since you weren’t much more than babies.
You’re in your late thirties now but you still come to the house.
We laugh and talk about when y’all were little kids and we had spend the night parties. We’d go to the mall and music in the park.
Whitney said, “we ain’t neveah gon let you go in a nursing home”. I cried over the sweetness in her big brown eyes. Nobie agreed with her sister.
Thank God for our black family that we’ve been a part of for years and years.
Fourth of July get togethers with lots of children and mounds of the best food ever.
The girls brought us plates of their mama’s cooking. Such a giving family. Whitney with her precious baby, lil’ Brandon. Nobie rocked the new family member in my grandmother’s ancient chair. They sat in our kitchen and I watched their beautiful black faces with afternoon light bouncing off of their skin. Reflective light that is forever in my heart.
