Janet Brice Parker
In the moment poem.
IN THE MOMENT
A spring-like day
in the middle of winter.
Brilliant sun warms
the tops of barren trees.
A breeze as light as the day.
I am living in the moment.
Savoring.
Letting the balmy air fill my lungs.
Raising my face to the sky
in thankfulness.
Tomorrow, they say, will bring
cooler air and then rain.
I will not think of tomorrow
in any scope of the imagination.
I won’t go forward and be plagued
by what might be.
But I will look back
when this day is done
and remember the delight
of holding soft sweet air
and sunshine spatters for
a whole magnificent day.
