Homesick
I get homesick
thinking of traveling afar.
I don’t want to see foreign structures
or spend nights in ancient halls.
My heart would long for home
and its clean, virgin sheets.
I ache for our dwelling
even though I’ve never left.
An artist’s longing
for home,
even when it’s right before me.
