Glaring White

I’ve had enough of HGTV.
Most is like it used to be.
“Mid century modern”
is all I see and all white walls
are depressing to me.
Pit groups and tables
are boring and bleak
No lamps, no stuff
new floors don’t creak.
Hopefully it’s just a passing whim.
Everything is minimal,
cut back and trimmed
I like things filled to the brim!
White rugs, white chairs,
how sad and grim.

I grew up in a fifties house
There was modern furniture all about.
I’m sick of it tired of it,
bring back the warmth.
Light up a fire and sit by the hearth.
Antiquing, thrifting and roadside trash.
Pick it up, paint it red,
You’ll save lots of cash.
