FEBRUARY SUN

February sun, gifting us
with longer days.
Anticipation of spring,
when this heavenly body’s rays
will reach down and wrap
a luminous blanket
over the evening hours.
February sun speaks to the tides
and secrets glisten into the water.
White foamy caps roll over
to cover the darkness beneath.
White ocean foam rolls over onto me.
It covers and washes away
my darkest hours.
