DREAMS OF SUMMER
Tender leaves erupt into spring.
Trees fill in negative spaces
that winter’s blank canvas left behind.
No more Stark limbs, cracking
and readying themselves
for early darkness. Naked black
against a cobalt blue sky.
Summer is waiting
the edge of a yellow Sun.
Waiting to burst forth and
spread the earth
With flowers. Rich colors
mixed with soil, a gardener’s delight.
Moods elevate
and humanity emerges
from musty days indoors.
The sea opens its’ arms as
ocean’s roar speaks
with the immense
voice of God.
