Janet Brice Parker
crafts fair poem # 2.
Alternate version — final website choice pending.
CRAFTS FAIR
Funnel cakes and moo moos,
hot dogs and tacky art.
Sounds of Jimmy Buffett
songs belted from the heart.
Sun tan oil and mustard
floating through the air.
Beer and cotton candy
at a seaside craftsy fair.
The ocean’s past those sand dunes
but it’s salty cooling breeze
is blocked by heavy bodies
and all things dipped in grease.
Folks are packing up their vans
with useless garden art.
They’re proud as punch to show their kin
what you (‘cha) can’t buy at Wal-Mart.
