Janet Brice Parker
A TOUCH OF BITTER
Teenie boppers
in made up disguise
or over forty
with bulging thighs.
Whatever passes
catches his eye
While passing me up
and passing me by.
Middle age crisis
on an aging man,
fighting the slide
of the hour glass
sand.
Making money
and making time.
Putting me down
helps him
cross the line.
Forty two
with an image
that’s low.
They’re
building him up
and he’s letting
me go.
